Cat Terrorising Neighbours

We've just adopted a cat, he about 9 months old. Kept him in for the required two weeks. When we let him out, and he was desperate to go outside he made a massive nuisance of himself, eating their plants, going in their houses and knocking over garden ornaments.

We've now kept him a further two week but I don't feel it is fair on him. We live opposite a nature reserve and all the other cats seem content to explore this so why won't he?

Is he now a house cat.....

Any advice welcome. I really cannot tell the neighbours to knob off as we have only been here a few months

Well, if finances permit, you could always cat-proof the garden using Protect-a-Puss or similar. Or just apologise sweetly to the neighbours (a better strategy than telling them to know off) but let him carry on.

He should grow out of being such a dick eventually. He's still basically a kitten at heart.
