Tale of two cats and a mouse

I have two cats. Less than bright boy cat brought a mouse into the house. It ran behind a tall, glass doored, heavy dresser. The f*cker lost interest in the rodent he had brought in.

Cue me removing everything around the dresser so I would see if it moved and could plonk a bowl over it. Girl cat came in and smelt the mouse straight away. Waited, patiently and vigilantly, with me while I shoved cardboard underneath to herd it to one side. I was ages doing this and tried other things too. Finally, as I was shoving things under, I heard a growl. My magnificent girl cat has caught the mouse. She was growling as that was the moment that boy cat (the f*cker who brought it in and abandoned it) decided to become interested again. I opened the garden doors and she went out with her trophy mouse.

I am very admiring of girl cat right now. Big plushy boy cat is asleep beside me and I'm wondering if he is a cat at all.

Well done girl cat! Mine bring me great big squeaking frogs.

That is nothing! Ferocious cat caught a mouse and was playing with it in the garden - letting it run two feet and catching it again. A magpie came down to watch! Once the mouse was nearer to the magpie than the cat, the magpie pounced and flew off with the mouse!

The cat couldn't understand where the mouse had gone! What a dim specimen of the feline race - outwitted by a bird!

Why didn’t you put the cats in another room whilst you caught the mouse?

Yes why not put cat out and spare the mouse? Although once bitten or scratched by cats most mice, birds, voles and other wildlife die from shock and infection

Clever cats. In one rural rental a mouse ran over my pillow... Eeek… Cat grabbed it then it escaped and ran behind the big cupboard in the main room.

Dog got in on the act and for a few days it was mouse.. cat... dog..

Then I caught dog with mouse in mouth, rescued mouse and took it out to release it. Dog gave me an incredulous filthy look so I gave her a treat.

Never seen a mouse here but there were HUGE RATS outside. All dead or gone now. Well if you were a rat would you stay around a place where there were seven cats...
NB Never in the house. Rats and mice are not stooopid…

Or maybe they heard that every cat on the island lives and eats here and have gone to other, safer houses. As I said they are not daft. Off up the lane with their bags on their shoulders..
