Okay. For all you cat people who have way more knowledge about stuff than I do.

I’m moving. I have an outdoor cat who doesn’t use a litter tray.

My train of thought was…. As he is an outdoor cat and never uses a littertray keeping him inside for weeks would be stressful for him ( he has a heart problem so easing stress and priority)

I have bought and designed a catio. Have had it out for weeks now … thought I would get him being able to use it ( door not shut ) smells etc etc.

He loves it. I find him asleep in their when I get up every morning. All good. I’m really happy about that.

My question is about going to the loo. So I put the litter box in the catio. Do I just leave him to just go to the loo in there and try cleaning up the best I can.
I have bought different types of gravel , stones etc and have added them in boxes thinking that is what he uses when he goes out here ( have seen him )

Will he use them in the catio or are they too close to where he sleeps.

Am I best to fry and put a tray inside. If I go down the litter box route inside the house. What do people recommend to be as close to going outside.

Sorry. Lots of questions. I am very chilled about the moving house but so worried about him. He is 12. Lived down this street for his entire 12 years.

I'd try some soil in a low tray, that's probably where he'll do a poo being out and about as it's easier to cover his tracks as it were. Good luck.
