Amazon suggested I may wish to purchase one of these for my cats and I have many questions Grin

Firstly, how exactly do I get my cat to sit still in order to have it applied (I’m not sure ‘petting them to calm them’ will work if they see me coming towards them with a bag to put over their heads Hmm)

Secondly, it is mesh, yes? And cats have claws? And teeth? That they don’t mind using generally? So how long is the mesh going to last against a thrashing, biting, angry cat? I’m thinking probably not long Wink

Also, who washes their cat regularly enough to need a special device for it? Grin

Has anyone actually ever seen one in action? I’m not sure my hands would survive trying it out here, and I like having hands Grin

@Cailleach1

Oh gosh, op. I really enjoyed that. Especially the pictures of the cat just lying there getting a blow-dry etc.
That made me laugh out loud ‘getting a blow dry ‘😂😂😂

I was also recommended this on Facebook. I had to read it very carefully as originally thought it came with foot holes and really could not see the point, if the cat could get its legs out to savage you. So finding out that the leg holes had zips made me think it wasn't so bad after all. But then I thought a bit more and went back to thinking how shit it was.

NapoleonOzmolysis · 11/09/2021 18:52

I should point put that Amazon also sells no water cat shampoo - nilaqua brand - that you squirt on, rub in, then dry off. I mean, if you ^have* to bath a cat you don't actually need to get it wet.

BeaucoupFish · 11/09/2021 18:52

@FlyingFlamingo
Thank you OP that is the best laugh I’ve had for long time 😭😭😭

BeaucoupFish · 11/09/2021 18:53

The drawstring round the tail - for some reason I can’t stop laughing 😭😭😭

FleasInMyKnees · 11/09/2021 18:57

But none of the cats in pic 3 who are having things done to them have got the satsumas bag on

BeaucoupFish · 11/09/2021 19:00

It's brilliant isn't it Grin
FlyingFlamingo · 11/09/2021 19:03

The cat being carried looks a little alarmed Grin

😂😂😂😂
BeaucoupFish · 11/09/2021 19:05

And the fake vet photos !
It really is like a joke ad !

mineofuselessinformation · 11/09/2021 19:09

@FlyingFlamingo, to be fair, when my dcs were small (but old enough to be sensible), they managed to get the two cats I had at the time dressed in knitted bonnets, complete with cardigans (with their front legs in the sleeves).
Sadly, it was in the time before phones had cameras, so I can't provide a picture!
I still can't work out how they did it.... ShockGrin
All I know is I would have been in shreds.

FlyingFlamingo · 11/09/2021 19:15

You have brave children, I would love to have seen your cats in a bonnet! I have on occasion managed to balance a hat on my little cat but that doesn’t involve any limbs so I got away with it

The Santa hat is very cute 😻

YesItsMeIDontCare · 11/09/2021 19:23

Cozy & comfy... so nice

😂🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

FlyingFlamingo · 11/09/2021 19:26

Thanks…she is very cute. Cries like a banshee if she’s picked up though and I think wrestling an eel into one of those bags would be easier (and less bitey)

BeaucoupFish · 11/09/2021 19:28

Indeed
Even putting a flea treatment on mine is a two person job !

That cracked me up too 😂
FlyingFlamingo · 11/09/2021 19:33

@BeaucoupFish it is here too…we have to wrap them in a blanket and pin them down, then for the rest of the day we get betrayed, accusatory looks. If they even see the blanket come out they run and we have to chase them. I don’t think putting them in a bag would make things any easier Hmm

@BeaucoupFish
We have 2 cats and red soil. Indoors it's pale cream carpets. So, when they come in at night or out of the rain their paws have to be wiped The filth that comes off them is vindication enough! Anyhow, we have two door entry system, so to trap one of them in particular we have to close the inner door. Of course as he comes in through the outer door he sees the inner one is closed and backs out - very quickly. In the hope that he'll come in for food, we shake a few bits in a small container and it always works. He forgets about the closed inner door. Food is much more important. He also has tunnel vision with regard to food, so he doesn't see the (drum roll) blue drying towel hanging just above his head, until it really is around his head and he's being swaddled in prior to paw cleaning. Back paws first so they can be contained while front paws are being tended to. Those back legs with powerful claws on the end could disembowel a rabbit, so they need to be tightly swaddled. He doesn't mind his front paws being done though and purrs enthusiastically. It's still a 2 person job though - but we do have the routine off pat now. Um...where's that towel.

BeaucoupFish · 12/09/2021 13:15

😂 they’re little buggers aren’t they
Would be nice if you could put down a foot (‘paw’ ?) bath like at the swimming pool but you can imagine how that would go down 😻
And know any you mean about back legs - whilst their back claws are more blunt they are still lethal

FlyingFlamingo · 14/09/2021 20:11

I’ve just had an email from Amazon offering me various suits of armour options, anyone else? Grin
