Hey,
My cats due to get spayed in 2 days time, but I think she's in heat! Will they still do it?!
I've booked time off work and everything to look after her after!

Don't know about this. Phone the vets and check.

Esmereldashome · 06/09/2021 14:41

They done my cat while in season. Apparently its slightly riskier so it may depend on the actual vets own individual policy.

Shitfuckcommaetc · 06/09/2021 14:50

Ah OK, see I don't want to make an idiot of myself, first time cat owner and all.
I'm not 100% she's in heat, how do you know for sure?!

Well usually very vocal, lots of calling for a mate, crouching down low in a mating position with rear in the air. I would phone the vet and ask. They're probably quite used to these questions.

Rub her back at the base of the tail, if she crouches low and spreads her legs she is in season.

Barricade her in!! If she is in season they can be bloody determined! Also is she microchipped? It’s worth doing when she’s under if not.

Windows closed and its 27 degrees here!

Even the bloody fanlights as I caught her scheming to get out of one earlier!

Oh bugger!! Ours tried under the dishwasher and up the chimney and they weren’t even in season! Shock
