Jet black, all identical, no way to tell them apart.

They are gorgeous, I love black cats.

Brollypackedforscottishholiday · 03/09/2021 19:06

My very first foster dkittens were also all black!! No dm sadly... Used nail varnish on a claw to tell them apart...
Amazingly all went to the same home.
Back in 1998 I think. The dkittens even wrote to me including photos!!

Chemenger · 03/09/2021 21:28

How do you paint a kitten’s nails?

Oooh .. is there a pic of mum as well?

Chemenger · 04/09/2021 09:35

Just a back toe nail and write down who is who and tick after a feed - but see you have dm also. Still a way to keep health checks going!

SquirryTheSquirrel · 04/09/2021 09:42

Mum is beautiful too - I bet you won't want to let this little family go!

Chemenger · 04/09/2021 11:13

We don’t really need to know which is which until they are microchipped, then the right kitten will need to be matched with the right paperwork. Hopefully there will be two of one sex and one of the other, which will simplify things. Here’s one of them, full tummy and fast asleep.

The one you've posted I'd guess as a boy - I can see what looks like tiny bollocks sprouting (although as it's a photo it might just be fur!).

Chemenger · 04/09/2021 12:12

We haven’t had a good look yet, to see if they are boys or girls. Ice been wrong before but that was with much smaller kittens. They are just so cute, and such happy, playful little things.

They are gorgeous! Was it you who adopted your last foster? I remember someone doing this.

Chemenger · 04/09/2021 13:10

I seriously thought about adopting my last one, but in the end she was too needy to be left alone all the time when I go back in to work. She went to the most perfect retired couple and she is living her best life. Her fourth and final home.

Bittersweet Flowers

Brollypackedforscottishholiday · 04/09/2021 13:23

I had 2 of each... Very long legged and pointy ears!! Prob not around anymore as 1998 seems an eternity ago!
Maybe an mner had them?
Hexham I think they went to.

Chemenger · 07/09/2021 07:55

They’re doing well. Eating until I slightly worry that they might explode, running as fast as they can (very fast), fighting, playing, sleeping and having sly pees on the sofa Hmm. Mum mostly has no interest in them but occasionally pins them down for a wash. They have the odd drink from her when they’re very sleepy. She is very hungry too, and very thin.

They're gorgeous. Black cats are lovely. I've recently acquired my very own stray black catGrin

Well done for fosteringSmile

AlfonsoTheMango · 07/09/2021 19:50

I love black cats.

Chemenger · 12/09/2021 09:00

In the good news they have stopped peeing on the sofa! However one of them peed on my leg yesterday, which was unexpected. One of them (still can’t tell them apart) now purrs every time he’s stroked which is lovely. Last night I gave them chicken as a treat, today they won’t eat their food and are all four meowing mournfully that I’m poisoning them. They’re absolutely crazy now, tearing round the house , in, under, over and up everything. Vaccinations next week then they’ll be off.

Still love mum.

I’m now a bit worried about something. Mum cat came to me very thin, has eaten like a horse since she’s been her and now looks less bony. BUT all her curviness is around her belly. Please tell me that she couldn’t have come to me with her 8 week old kittens pregnant …

OP posts:
SquirryTheSquirrel · 18/09/2021 11:02

Has mum been wormed recently? Surely she couldn't have been in season just after giving birth?

Chemenger · 18/09/2021 11:22

I’m hoping not. The kittens have had their first vaccinations now, they are all boys.

It really depends on when she went back in heat. She could use a trip to the vet for spaying. She looks awfully young herself.
