Feline aggression after holiday

Does anyone have any advice or experience about a cat being agressive and mean when its people return from holiday?

Our cat is just over 2 years old. Sadly her sister was killed by a car a couple of months ago. Previously we have had holidays with no issues, and have had a pet sitter visit every 48 hours to refill the feeder timer and sort out water and litter, but because she would be on her own this time we arranged for daily visits instead. She seemed to get on well with the visiting cat sitter and we were sent daily update videos of them gaving some quality cuddle and stroking time together.

However, the week without us does seem to have triggered some behaviour changes. She is being quite agressive, has bitten and scratched us and attacked our hands and feet despite also being very purry and seemingly pleased to see us. I have just had to shut her downstairs for the night because she was going crazy about attacking my feet through the duvet. When I got out of bed she immediately settled down, sprawling across my side of the bed looking very pleased with herself as if this was allabout chasing me out of the comfy spot (the bedroom was shut while were away so its not that she got used to sleeping there in our absence. She's also being very vocal.

DH reckons she will settle back to "normal" soon. Is he right.

I think it’s normal for pets to be a bit off when you come back from holiday, it’s likely she will calm down and settle in a few days xx
