Leg twitch - getting a bit worried

We've got the sweetest 11 year old Norwegian Forest. He is a real cat of the people - charms everyone who comes a across him within minutes.

I've noticed quite a significant twitch/spasm in his front right leg over the past few days. It seems completely involuntary and I've checked his paw and leg for anything obvious like an injury/pain or something stuck in his paw, but nothing. He's eating and drinking fine, doesn't seem to be in any pain, the only other thing I guess is that he doesn't seem to be cleaning himself as well as usual after going to the loo.

Obviously I'll be taking him to the vet on Monday - just wondering if anyone's got any ideas/experience with anything similar?

I've occasionally seen my cats do it. It doesn't bother them or side any issues. I wonder if it's just a muscular or positional thing. As for his rear ended. Ask the vet to do a hygiene trip to make it easer to keep clean.

Could it be arthritis? Maybe it's in his neck too and it's uncomfortable to wash his bottom. Cats are great at hiding pain and arthritis can cause a lot of discomfort luckily there are medicines that help with the pain but may require a blood test first to ensure kidney function is fine as drugs like metacam can put pressure on the kidneys especially in older cats

Thanks - I'll definitely raise that as a possibility with the vet.
