Cat's eye

Our 6 year old cat has a kind of strip of cloudy film about half a cm wide in the outer edge of one eye. It's been there a few days and doesn't seem to bother him. He's eating well and responding exactly as normal

I wondered if this cloudy film is the third eyelid that cats have and which sometimes shows, but i don't think it can be because doesn't that close from the inside corners of the eye?
Any ideas.

It sounds like it could be the start of cataracts. It would probably be a good idea to have the vet check them over x

Thanks @Houseofvelour, sounds like it might be. Poor thing; he's not very old! Would people usually treat a cat for this, or can the cat live comfortably with cataracts?

Treatment is usually surgery and is important as cataracts will eventually lead to blindness
