No cats in bedrooms

Anyone else have the rule of no cats in the bedroom? Ours are not allowed in the bedroom at all and DEFINITELY not on my bed.

Luckily I have very obedient cats who respect this rule 🤦🏽‍♀️

They don’t even look slightly sorry!

Our cat isn't allowed in the main house, just the kitchen.

Honestly, since we had a flea infestation and had to get pest control in, the cats are banished to the kitchen. (they have baskets, a cat flap and the kitchen is huge!)

Toddlerteaplease · 08/08/2021 22:55

Not allowed in my house either!

Of course not.

ColonelNobbyNobbs · 08/08/2021 23:13

Or on the chair!

SingingInTheShithouse · 08/08/2021 23:19

You're kidding yourself. Just get a bigger bed 😂

Anystarinthesky · 08/08/2021 23:19

Snoozle time!

GenuineKlatchianPottery · 08/08/2021 23:29

I have a king size bed.
I sleep along the edge, the rest is the cat’s.

I love that we’ve all broken our own rules 🤣

Not during summer as they're indoor cats and I would t be able to have the window open.

They do come up otherwise though

Love this thread! I also have cats who are not allowed in the bedroom, hence why I am currently balanced precariously along the edge of the mattress!

Longdistance · 09/08/2021 00:52

I was talking about cats on furniture/work surfaces. My dm cat abs mine, never went on furniture, work surfaces, beds, sofas etc. Would go upstairs on landing but never into the bedrooms.

HirplesWithHaggis · 09/08/2021 00:59

Because of the layout of my house, my cats are allowed in the kitchen, living room and my office, which is a room just off the living room. Strictly not allowed elsewhere, they have access to the great outdoors pretty much 24/7/365 and loads of places to sleep.

And yet my little black cat appeared at my bedside the other morning! Grin We had opened the bathroom window a little too wide and he went exploring. Quite happy to return to "his side" of the house, though.

Furries · 09/08/2021 01:57

Well, given this is what I wake up to, it’s blatantly obvious what the rules are here!

@justthecat - love that photo. That’s how I’d imagine, in many years to come, people finding a fossilised specimen of a superior species. I hope you take that the right way!

Mine sit on my pillow and stare at me whilst I’m sleeping. It’s very disconcerting to wake up to.

I think they’re waiting for me to die so they can eat my brains.

thesplashing · 09/08/2021 11:07

Mine aren't allowed on mine or the children's beds and certainly not near the top where the pillows are. If I occasionally catch then having snuck up having a snuggle I leave them if they are at the foot of the bed.

They do have their own bed in a guest room downstairs so I don't feel too mean about it.

I have childhood memories of our family cat actually sleeping under the covers with me! I have a bit of an aversion to cat hair everywhere since having children of my own so that would be a step too far for me now.

violetbunny · 09/08/2021 11:10

Just leaving this here.

Love seeing these pics. I love having my pets on my bed. We would have plenty of space if I didn't have to make room for my husband 🤣

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 09/08/2021 12:19

Mine aren't allowed in ours at night but can go in the children's rooms, where they spend most of their days, even though our bedroom door is open then. So of course they sleep directly in front of our bedroom door so they can trip us up if we need the toilet. I'm convinced their mission in life is to do me in.

icedcoffees · 09/08/2021 12:37

Ours have free rein during the day but they're locked downstairs at night, otherwise nobody gets any sleep.

The dog sleeps in the bed though Grin

PresidentJoey · 09/08/2021 15:31

My old girl Alfi tucked up IN bed Hmm Also a picture of her terrified trying to hide from a thunderstorm Grin

Plump82 · 09/08/2021 17:51

The 1st photo was taken about 5 mins after we brought our kittens home and boy cat claimed the bed for himself. We were never going to have a not on the bed rule! The 2nd photo is what i often wake up to!
