An update on my very scared cat.

I posted a few months ago about my two new rescue cats and how one of them, Lucy, was incredibly scared and was also losing lots of hair and being all scabby. I really appreciated the advice and reassurance.
After many vets visits Lucy is now on regular steroid treatment and is looking much much better. She has claimed the house as hers and walks around with much more confidence although she is still skittish. Every morning and evening she comes to cuddle on my lap and just recently she has started to play! She and her best friend Jas play chase and wrestle.

That’s lovely, she sounds much happier.

What a nice update! Having a cat sit on your lap means they feel very comfortable with you. Also means you can’t move and someone else has to make the tea!

One of mine was very nervous and semi aggressive. Took quite a long time but so rewarding when they are happy and chilled

I'm particularly happy that her fur is growing back! I've attached a photo of her at its worst. She had huge bald patches all over her stomach too. She and Jas now rule the house! When Lucy wants a cuddle she sits next to my spot on the sofa, staring pointedly at it until I sit down so she can jump on my lap :)

Oh that looks so sore Shock! You have done very well, lucky cat having her new home with you!

Ooh poor baby, that looks so sore!! Glad she's much better! One of mine is very skittish and had steroid treatment and eventually ciclosporin treatment for patches. She's much better now, but is definitely a run now, look later cat!

Ooooch!! Glad the steroids are working for her. She looks ever so minxy in her "after" photos.

Hemskis · 06/08/2021 21:03

It's lovely to see her personality come out. She has been exploring our bedroom the last few evenings once I've gone to bed and yesterday she braved jumping up on the bed and came for cuddles!

She has such a sweet little face! It's lovely that she's making friends.

That's just lovely!

She's landed on all four paws with you- what lucky ladies you both are 🥰
