Resist any kind of affection, especially the picking up and smooshing kind, unless it’s at 5am when suddenly if no one is stroking her she head butts us and walks all over us? It’s the only time she purrs

‘Oi, wake up slave, I need feeding’. Your cat is creeping up to you bring cute, so they get fed. I’d drag it out in the mornings, cat can wait.

Funnily enough this was one of my cats at 5.30 this morning. Purring VERY loudly.

We don’t get up with her, no chance of that, but it’s very hard to resist stroking her fluffy little face!

No - I think they all have the capacity to be contrary little toe-rags .

My black cats don't disturb me in the mornings. Boycat waits until he hears me go to the loo then charges upstairs to greet me on the bed for cuddles. Girlcat lies in magnificent splendor until I come downstairs to feed her.

However 15 minutes after the lights go out at night, they play chase up & down the stairs often using my bed as a springboard.

It’s so you get up and feed them. Mine have been shut in the kitchen at night for the last 18 years for this very reason.

Cats get their instructions from the Mother Ship and sometimes the messages get garbled.
