Clean the cat poop

Short story/request for advice:

How can I get dried in cat diarrhea out of a cream carpet? So far I've chipped off what I can and used a 1:10 spray bleach solution. Is there a better way?

Long story:

Just come back early from a couple of days away to find cat sitter had locked poor little feline in the spare room. No litter tray, just food and water. I assume the stress of being trapped in plus the heat gave him some tummy wobbles. So totally not his fault.

Cat is ultimately ok. Now asleep on the sofa. He's due his vaccination this week so I'll get him a proper once over with the vet whilst there.

Cat sitter will rue the day and I've already told her I will be notifying whomever I see fit, including her insurance and RSPCA. She will not be hired again. There's not one jot of adequate pet care done with my brood.

Poor kitty Sad

I imagine you would need to actually shampoo the carpet. You would need a lot of water to dilute that to release the dried stain from the fibres. Does anyone have one you could borrow?

We returned from a short trip out to the shop to find our large dog had had diarrhoea on our carpet. She was 12 & had never messed in the house so it was purely down to being ill. It hadn’t dried but that took two goes with a Bissell carpet cleaner!

Tbf, the carpet is being ripped out in a couple of weeks. Luckily my technique seems to have worked as a temporary measure to make it sanitary.

Just glad I came home early. Don't know why it's so difficult to find good, honest and reliable pet sitters?

Your poor wee cat Sad

Simple Solution make a carpet shampoo in addition to their assorted cleaning things (they’re pet-safe, as long as you use them properly) & as your poor wee cat will probably have instinctively tried to dig at the carpet to bury the mess, it’ll get rid of the smell that will have left behind as well as any last trace of poo.

Do you know how long your cat was shut in for? Am so cross for you & your cat: hope visit to vet brings reassurance.

I suspect he was locked up at least two days. Pet sitter said it was so she didn't have to go looking for him through the house. (crock of shit, he's the friendliest cat who seeks out human company. No looking would have been necessary. And it doesn't explain what state I found the other animals in). I notified her insurance and RSPCA and the vet whose notice board I found her on. Also left a scathing review everywhere possible.

Jesus. That’s horrific.

Hope that you manage to raise a response from people you report to & that cat (& other animals) bounce back ok.
