Cat sick and just been seen drinking from blocked drain

My cat took Ill last week. Off food miserable and so on. Took her to vet on Monday she was running a temperature and was diagnosed with possible bladder infection. Has been on meds since.

She seemed to improve slightly for a clunker of days but has been off food and drink since. Has been spending most of her time under a shady bush.

Have to say I put it partly down to the hot weather but even though it's cooler now she is still not eating or drinking much.

Then my partner just discovered that we had blocked drain in back garden and caught he drinking the stinky water on it.

It was gross. Am really worried now that she'll have done serious damage

Have cleared the drain and put a temporary cover over it too so she won't get back to it.

Lots of fresh water out for her (as always)

Think I shou take her back to vet tomorrow

My poor cat is miserable this morning. I got up at 7 and she had already gone back outside to sit under a bush. Waiting for vets to open...

I hope your cat is ok. I’m worried about mine too as she didn’t come in during the big storms last night. Good luck with the vets.

God cats are so stressful, I wonder why we do it to ourselves sometimes! No advice, but glad to hear she's on the mend. Hope your cat puts in an appearance soon too LFQuery.

You can slosh warm saltwater over the wound. It happened to my departed Bengal on his head, I had no idea he had anything there until it burst one Sunday morning.

Sunday’s, bank holidays & the day before you go on holiday are traditional access days.

I'm sorry but that made me laugh.

Poor her and poor you. What's the latest update?

Fluffycloudland77 · 25/07/2021 19:14

Abscess 🙄

Thanks all for the replies! Latest update is my partner took off a fence panel and eventually the cat walked back to our garden. Cat now asleep on my dressing gown in the conservatory. Took cats temperature (ear) and it's normal.
However cat glares at me when she sees me ( as I'm the one to blame for bringing her to the vet) and fawns at my partner who has been coaxing her with fish.

Ah, bless. I'm glad to hear that she's doing much better.

Of course you're to blame! Cat logic.
