Insurance question

I need to get insurance today for my 2 cats as the cover they came with runs out tomo and they are at the vets on Mon for the pre neutering checks.
I started with Tesco to get clubcard points and on a recommendation. I understand I need life cover, but don't understand the difference between Extra (limit per visit/issue) and Premium (limit per year).
Can anyone advise please? Thanks

Does extra then exclude whatever you get treated for the next time it renews?
Premier sounds like the lifetime cover where your cover continues including anything you've claimed for

Premium renews every year. So if you reach your limit on a particular condition one year. You start again the next. Useful for chronic conditions. I've got Tesco Premium and they have been brilliant. Can't fault them at all. And I've had a lot of claims.

That's really helpful thanks. It is more expensive than Sainsbury's, and Sainsbury's gives double nectar on all shopping, so tempting. But the excess I can set at £60for Tesco, Sainsbury's is stuck at £99 which may swing it.

Sorry, last questions
1- they are being neutered early next month. As they won't be covered for 2 weeks anyway, do I say they are neutered on the form?
2 - would you set everything to highest? Limits can be £2500 to £10000

I'm with Bought by Many and they have 15k cover
Go with the highest cover you can reasonable afford. I would put no to being neutered as they aren't.

Thank you. In that case I need to switch them to indoor cats for now. I guess I just phone up when it changes.

Just in case anyone else is searching. Here are my conclusions for 2 kittens lifetime cover. Boughtbymany came up much pricier!

Sainsburys £302 per year, £99 excess, up to £5000, double nectar on all shopping, won awards

Tesco £341 per year, £60 excess, up to £4000, recommended

Co op £270 per year, £99 excess, up to £5000

I used tesco in my first year but there was a big jump in price after that so I switched. I found BBM was cheaper than the others for 2 cats after that plus it's £15k worth of cover

Useful to know

Could well be worth going through Top Cashback for more savings too.
