Cat with suspected cystitis

Im 99% sure she has cystitis. My old cat had it a couple of times so i know the signs.
Called the vets, they don't have any appointments so I've to go an collect non absorbent cat litter tomorrow afternoon as they were out of stock of it today, to then take back to them to test on Thursday (if I can manage to get a sample and not have her brother pee in it!) and then they'll decide if shes needing to be seen so potentially another 3 days plus of her not being able to pee. That's not right is it?

I asked if i could just get medicine for her and they said not without a sample. I've ordered some cystease online to arrive tomorrow but should i be pushing more?

Shes eating, pooing, playing and seems her usual self, she just can't pee very much 😥

What food does she have? Every time ones of my cats has had urine infections the vet tells me to add as much water to their food as possible.

Shes a total fuss pot when it comes to food and much prefers dry which isn't ideal! I managed to get an appointment though and she has some medication
