Finding homes for cats - please help me?!

I live in a village in Co Tipp, where there are a lot of stray cats. There are lots of kind people who feed them and most of them have been neutered, courtesy of Tipperary Friends of Animals. Thankfully, one of their volunteers lives in the village and keeps a look out for any intact catsGrin

In the last 6 months, 3 cats have taken up residence on my verandah. Tipperary Friends of Animals won't help find homes for them, as they consider them wild. They are not wild, they are just unsocialised. I've given homes to many stray cats over the years, and know how to win them overGrin

I've been taking care of them. They've got warm places to sleep and rest, with plenty of food and they're slowly coming round.

Here's the issue. I'm going to be leaving Ireland within the next year and I'd really like to find homes for them. Do you have any suggestions? I know it's almost impossible to find homes for strays, but I have to try.

I've attached photos of them. I could take the black one with me, he's a sweetheart, but I'd really struggle to take the 3 of them plus my own indoor cat. If I can't find homes for the other 2 (females), the woman who volunteers for the animal rescue said she'd look out for them, but that's not giving them a home.

Sorry for the epic. I just wanted to give a bit of background. Thanks!

I know some cat rescues have rehoming projects for feral cats as farm and stable cats; they act as mousers but still get fed too. I don't know any where you are unfortunately but could be worth reaching out to Cats Protection, RSPCA etc to see if they have any contacts in your area?

Thank you AwkwardPaws27. I'll give that a try. I could also contact the ISPCA. You never know...

I do TNR, though in the north so a long way from you. I use my FB page to appeal for safe locations for semi ferals like these. I have managed to get some good homes on dairy farms and stables. I also got a nice home where there was someone allergic ( so couldn't let cats in the house) but they installed a cat flap in their garage and turned it into a cat room.
It's worth advertising on maybe a local FB page or vet pages to see if there's anyone who could offer an outdoor home where the cats would be safe.

There's always the Cat Hospital in Cork. There was an RTÉ series about them a couple of years ago. They work with cat rescue groups. thecathospital.ie/

Thank you somethinginthewater.

That's pretty much what I've done, set them up on the verandah and am contentplating getting a shed for them. But at the same time, I've been trying to not make them dependent on me - not an easy taskGrin

I don't use Facebook or anything similar, so I'm limited at reaching out. I could ask someone who is, to help. I've been in touch with catsaid and the animal rescue centre in Limerick, but haven't had replies. Fingers x'd.

I wish the government was more proactive in animal welfare.
