Flea treatment recommendations please

Hi

Which spot on flea treatment are people using at the moment? I've been told a few times in the past that fleas become resistant to certain brands and so some brands become ineffective after a while. I don't want to waste money on something that isn't going to work.

Thanks

I get mine from the vet- stronghold plus

As a vet I like Bravecto plus for my own cat. Three months treatment against fleas, ticks abs roundworms in a spot on. It is prescription only so your cat will need to see the vet and you can either buy from them or get a written prescription ( there will be a charge).

I just ask the local vet for what the best current spot on is.
I read fleas can be regional Grin
And indorex for indoors.

I had a vet nurse deny fleas can become immune to frontline so I asked what she used for her cats. Advocate!.

Always keep a can of indorex. If you need it you want to get it done ASAP.

One of the biggest things is client expectations. When Frontline was launched the only other thing around was Nuvan Top. A flea treatment that last longer than 7 days amazing, the fact that it took up to 48 hours to kill fleas was okay. No even seeing one live flea is unacceptable so waiting 48 hours for them to die us a big no no. I still get people who call and say they have found a flea with all the different treatments - I have to explain that nothing gives instantaneous kill over a long period of time.
