Any brush recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a brush, or type of brush that would be good for grooming my 2 short haired moggies? I have a soft bristle but so many varieties I am not sure this is best, especially for removing malting hair.

My long haired moggy loved a good brush/massage with the purple Kong brush, which I'd shaped like a cat. He dislikes the Furminator, but it's much more effective at removing fur (dh has to pin him down to use it though).

Mine liked his furminator but it was accompanied with a running commentary of how it improves his handsomeness. He also liked the zoom groom.

Childhood Persians hated the metal comb so I never bought one.

It's the most amazing cat comb ever. I was astonished at how much hair came out of my two after switching from a normal brush.

My exotic shorthair likes a slicker brush and a zoom groom.

I use a human tangle teezer on my long haired cat.

A slicker brush and metal comb are used most on my lot. None of them tolerate a dematting rake or furminator (long and short haired cats). They all love the slicker brush and push in to be groomed.

I've got an ancient zoom groom and they all love it.

3 of 4 Madcats rate(d) the purple Kong. The other one could groom an entire rescue centre so we leave her to it.

One took a few weeks to accept it, but now flops down on a piano stool (aka the grooming station), legs akimbo, demanding to be groomed several times a day. The spikes are wearing out.
