Older cat pooing around

She's 16 and I think the younger cats are showing dominance by positioning themselves at the top of the stairs or even sleeping in the bathroom where the litter trays are. Whatever the cause she now has twice pooed and wee'd downstairs on furnishings.
I think I need a litter tray just for her but am a bit stumped as to where on earth to put it. Choices are-
Kitchen which is a tiny galley and is open to the living room.
Living room
Downstairs bedroom
Possibly just inside front door where there is a square of hallway before stairs. It's about a metre by 70cms. We would have to avoid using the front door but could use back door. Post might be an issue.
Or is there another solution I'm being oblivious to?

Poor girl. You need the most open space the others can’t resource guard.

I think I’d separate them at night too with their own trays so they can’t bully her at night.
