How long should I wait…

I buried my beautiful 4 year old ragdoll boy last Monday. He slipped out and got hit by a car right outside our house. We buried him in a deep hole with a paving slab over him then filled the hole with quite heavy top soil. Currently we have two paving slabs covering the area to protect him but I have found a variety of plant that matches his name so just wanted to know how long I should leave it before planting. I read something that says ten days but that doesn’t seem long enough. Thanks in advance.

I’d give it 6 months, last thing you want is a fox digging there. Could you put these plants in containers on the slabs?

I’m so sorry you lost him.

Thanks @Fluffycloudland77 It’s a hydrangea so can definitely go in a pot for a good while.
