Do cats actually care about people? I really want a companion for me and the kids but I don’t want a cat that’s stand offish and attacks us.
I love the sound of ragdolls (and they’re the cutest things ever) but don’t know if I’m cut out for a long haired cat.
Does anyone have experience of ragdolls or British shorthair?
Or what are my chances of getting a moggy kitten that ends up friendly and cuddly?
No rescue suggestions as I live in a flat so wouldn’t be suitable.

A long haired cat is not for you so dont even contemplate it. Ypu know ypur limits. What kind of flat is it if you say the balcony isnt high up? Is there anyway a cat could come and go from it or not really?

No, unfortunately too high for that. People in here with cats do let them out on the shared balconies though and they just tend to sit in the sun or roam up and down a bit. So I have the shared balcony with other peoples doors off of it, and a small private one at the back.
