Is she pregnant ?

My Persian cat went to a stud cat twice. She started calling after the first visit (one mating) so went back and mated again twice.

Her nipples haven’t changed and she’s gained weight. She’s constantly crying and very needy so not like a normal season.
I put my hand on her tummy and can feel little flicks but my daughter said it’s indigestion😂

She would be coming upto 7 weeks and she is eating more.

Is it unusual for a cat to be like this ?

You need an ultrasound scan to know one way or the other.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 29/05/2021 03:25

I'm no expert but it seems like it. Awwww baby kittens

Toddlerteaplease · 29/05/2021 09:57

Have you had her checked for hereditary heart disease and other Persian related health issues. Two of my Persians were rescued from a kitten farm. So I don't like back yard breeders.

ConfusedAdultFemale · 29/05/2021 09:58

My female cat acted like this, turned out she had an infection and wasn’t pregnant. Vet ASAP.

Stickytreacle · 29/05/2021 10:01

Only a vet will know for certain.

Arbadacarba · 29/05/2021 10:02

You need to check with a vet. Cats can have phantom pregnancies.

Fluffycloudland77 · 29/05/2021 10:22

I hope you’ve had both her & the dad checked for heart conditions because Persians can die very young from congenital heart problems.

I’m not against breeding pedigrees per se because it’s the only way to keep these breeds going but it’s important their born with the best possible chance of survival.

Toddlerteaplease · 29/05/2021 11:03

My Persian died at 8 from heart disease. Her kittens will no doubt have it as well.

LST · 29/05/2021 11:18

Fingers crossed she isn't and you can just go and get her spayed like a responsible person.

Chemenger · 29/05/2021 11:25

The (very) obvious solution to this dilemma is to take her to the vet. I’m sure you’ve talked over this pregnancy with the vet when you had the health checks done. Like any responsible breeder. If not, better late than never.

This.

Irresponsible and clueless. 😡

Toddlerteaplease · 29/05/2021 13:14

This was an intentional pregnancy. I suspect the OP is a back yard breeder trying to make money.

EachandEveryone · 29/05/2021 13:19

Poor cat ☹️

damppatchnot · 30/05/2021 00:08

Yes both health checked. She’s going for a scan next week 🤞🏻
