Is this a tabby cat thing? I can look out of the window and see Kloppy playing 200m away in the field, turn my back for ten seconds and he materialises behind me in the kitchen, all smug and purry

I used to call mine Weeping Angels, they would do that every night when I went up to bed!

So glad it’s not just ours.
