Is my cat fretting

Hi all, I said goodbye to my rescue dog nearly 2 weeks ago. I adopted her knowing she was unwell and had limited time, she was with me for 10 happy months. I already had a cat who is around 12 but has only lived with me for 5 years. She’s ultra friendly and spends time in all the neighbours’ houses. She was already dog savvy and my dog was cat tested. They didn’t interract with each other one way or another but the other would muscle if one was getting some attention.

Since our dog went, the cat’s behaviour has changed. She’s not going out nearly as much, is following me around and sleeping on me at night, and she keeps walking to where the dogs bed was and giving a little mewl. She’s eating fine and doing the occasional zoomie still. I wonder is the dog’s absence affecting her? Because she was indifferent to dog I presumed she wouldn’t bat an eye. I don’t want to presume it’s that and miss a sign of something else.

Sounds like she is missing the dog. Or is unsettled by his absence. My cat went very clingy when her sister died. Even though they weren't particularly close
