Kitten on a drip :(

I had to rush my 9 month old kitten to the vet earlier. She suddenly started vomiting and then was doing a very weird miaow and kind of half collapsed. The vet things that she has probably ingested something but I have no idea what, nothing in the house, nothing new in the garden. I've had cats all my life and never seen anything like it before, I'm so worried that she won't make it, the kids are in bits and her brother is a little lost soul.

Thinking of you. Hope you don’t have too long to wait Flowers

Thanks all. Nurse called and said she's much brighter and has eaten over night. Still on drip. Just waiting for vet and more of a plan. I'm hoping this means she will be ok!

Thanks for the updates. It’s always a relief when they start eating again. Next thing is a wee and a poo, then you really feel they are on the mend.

The vet has called, they want to keep her in tonight but we should be able to pick her up tomorrow!! So relieved I really thought she was a gonna.

Keep us posted, please. Sending lots of good thoughts for her full recovery.

Thanks all, she is home now with her brother. They've sniffed each others bums and gone off to try and catch a moth upstairs. Not very impressed that I won't let them outside at the moment!

Thank goodness! Have you been all over the house to make sure there is nothing there she could have eaten

chipshopElvis · 26/05/2021 20:36

I'm confident that there was nothing in the house that would have done it. One neighbour has said that they put down rat poison, but I don't think that really fits with her symptoms and neither he nor I have ever seen her over there. Closer neighbour had slug pellets down, but again, doesn't quite fit the symptoms.

Oh so glad to hear she’s back home and doing fine!
