A good de-shedding comb?

I have two cats, both short haired. I use a flea comb at the moment which works well, but looking at the de-shedding ones, are they any good, and does anyone have any recommendations?

A zoom groom or a slicker brush work well. A cheap version of the furminator works well. But it does pull a bit.
