Looking for a paw / hand hold. My beautiful 13 year old boy has been poorly for the past couple of weeks. We have left him at the vets this morning for blood tests but the are having to put him under a general anasthetic because he is so uncooperative. He's asthmatic and I'm worried sick.

Handhold here for your gorgeous little boy, I hope he is ok.

Thanks dogs. I understand why they have had to put him under. Hes a different cat when he's at the vets and it safer for him and for them but it's such a worry. I just hope we get some answers today.

How's he doing?

I'm thinking of you too. Is there an update?

Thank you for asking. Its been such a roller coaster. The vet initially thought it might have been cystitis but that and all of the other tests have come back clear. Yesterday the vet said it sounds as if he has had a massive neurological decline potentially due to a blood clot on his brain or a stroke. He spent all night pacing, he had no spacial awareness and kept bumping into things and getting stuck between furniture. He even walked through his food bowl. He was deteriorating so quickly and wasn't responding to his name or anything. We were really expecting that we would have to make some very tough decisions over the next day or so given how much distress he was in.
This morning, we found a huge and very bloody urine accident on the carpet. I dont know if this is good or bad news but he's been much more settled since. Waiting to hear back from the vet to see what she thinks. I'm hoping it is something physical and we can help him after all. Just so many unknowns at the moment.

Oh, how distressing. Poor boy. And poor you.

Fingers crossed it’s good news. Thinking of you.
