I need a hand hold - Harry

Harry has been off his food for a few days and, as we are supposed to be going on holiday on Friday, we took him to the vet today. She said he seemed fine in himself and he was happy to stroll around the treatment room and jump up and down from the table but he was grumpy and sensitive when she examined the left side of his abdomen.

Because he’s got early kidney disease she’s done blood tests (apparently the markers were only very slightly raised last year) and she’s thinking of gastritis or kidney stones. I’m now sitting here panicking waiting for the results. Depending on what they show he might have to have an abdominal ultrasound tomorrow.

He’s 16 years old so I know he’s getting on a bit but I love the grumpy little bugger and I can’t bear the thought something might be wrong 😿

That’s ok news, Pink. Are you still going away or are you preferring to stay put with Harry?

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 13/05/2021 21:18

Providing he’s ok tomorrow we’re going away on Saturday morning. He seems fine, albeit extremely bald, and who knows what he’ll try next time!

I think he's trying to rival Snorg and Fatty's vets bills.

Well we went on holiday on Saturday and Harry has been eating everything the cat sitter gave him and has been a right old tart - she was allowed cuddles and tummy tickles! Harry has been spending a lot of time in his marshmallow bed, probably due to his naked belly!

BTW I have a temporary name change after being insulted on a covid thread!

Little traitor. He could at least mope about a bit & look sad while rolling over and eating like a horse.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 21/05/2021 11:29

I'm really sorry but I can't make that picture out.

It looks to me like Harry is a black and white partially plucked chicken being stuffed in the most undignified way possible.

But I am so glad he is OK.

I've just seen your reply @YetAnotherSpartacus and that's a very good description!

Luckily his fur is growing back now however we have a problem. I feel like the worst cat slave ever but he has mats in his trouser fur. Not just clumps of loose fur but mats. He's booked in with the nurse to be erm, groomed, on Friday but I'm worried he won't let them do it and will have to be sedated. He's also going to have a bald bottom isn't he?

They may not have to skin him completely, just a no.2 or no.3. Sort of crew cut rather than completely bald?

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 16/06/2021 21:35

That would match his side panels which are growing back after his scan. He’s going to hate me isn’t he?

Magic says she frequently has a bald bum. As it stops cling nuts.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 17/06/2021 13:31

Harry would like to make it clear he doesn't suffer from cling nuts! He waves hi to Magic and sympathises with her for the indignities they are suffering!

Grin
PinkSparklyPussyCat · 18/06/2021 20:29

Well it was good news, Harry wasn’t shaved as he let the nurse groom the knots out while he purred. The old tart!

This is what they got out of him and they only stopped as he’d had enough!

That's great. I bet he'd never sit and purr for you!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 18/06/2021 21:10

I doubt it! I’ve now got some new brushes for him so I’ll give it a go but we’ll see!
