Moving house with a cat

Just that. I'm moving, I have an 8ish year old cat. She has been with me for 5 years, before that she was at a rescue for about 4 months and before that she was kept in a shed Sad

She hasn't had any lasting effects from her upbringing as far as I can tell and is the epitome of Furry Overlord.

How do I make the move easy for her?

Depending on how far you are moving and what space you have where you are and where you are going I think there's 2 options:

  1. Put her in a cattery from the day before the move to the day after
  1. One of you gets to the new house first and prepares a room for her, with big sign on door to not open, cat inside, and then take her there and leave her with everything she needs until you're all in. This will work if she's not liable to bugger off during packing up etc, and be a nightmare to find/catch! or if she will be you can put her in one room until you're ready to take her over.

Cattery is definitely least stressful IME.
