Has anyone had any experience of high calcium level in their cat?
My lovely boy, Zakinthos, has lost a little weight - other than that, he’s pretty much been his usual self.
Blood tests showed a raised calcium level. Second blood test for ionised (free) calcium had a raised level. He’s got to go back this week for another blood test, which should show whether it’s due to parathyroid problems, malignancy (which will result in scans etc) or whether it’s idiopathic.
I had to have his brother, my soul cat, PTS at the start of lockdown one and I’m nowhere near being over my grief (I still find it too hard to look through photos of him). This news has sent me spiralling a bit, I’m just not ready to potentially lose another one.
I’m loathe to google to much as can end up going down a rabbit hole. I guess I’m just looking for some real life stories/hope.
