Microchip feeder closing too late

Cat 1 (slim/skinny) likes to graze, coming back and forth to her sureflap microchip feeder every hour or so. Greedier cat 2 bolts his down then waits in ambush tll cat 1 wanders away and gets his head in her dish before it has chance to close. It’s set to close as soon as she moves away and greedy cat’s dies this, but hers stays open for 3 seconds or so, and he moves in too quickly! I’ve tried swapping the feeders, it didn’t help much. Any tips? TIA

If it's like ours you can adjust how long they stay open once correct chipped cat moves away. Ours have a switch underneath 1-2-3 can't remember which way round is less time but we had to adjust one of ours as other cat is greedy

Or move them further apart so greedy cat can't get to it in time?

Feed them at opposite ends of the house.
