Cat hasn’t come home :(

We adopted a rescue cat last month and started letting him out over the Easter weekend. He loves going out and exploring but usually reappears after an hour or so. We haven’t had a cat flap installed yet.
We we playing with him in the garden at about 6:30pm and then he rushed off exploring and we haven’t seen him since. We’ve been calling him and wandering around the neighborhood with treats to no avail. He was a house cat before we had him and has never slept outside. He usually sleeps on our bed. I am really worried. Have left some treats out on the terrace and now don’t know what to do.

Any advice?

So nervewracking, but he will probably come back fine. Can you leave the back door slightly open for him? Definitely worth getting a catflap asap!

Put his litter tray outside xx

Thanks - was just about to get the litter tray and DH heard a noise, it was his bell - he’s back! So relieved. He doesn’t feel cold at all though so wonder where he’s been...? He didn’t seem overly anxious either (unlike us).

He was just waiting till you told us all he was.missing before reappearing. Dirty stop out!! Glad he's home before bed.
