Haribo's friend is moving

He's going to be so upset and lost. Hugo the white cat will be moving shortly. They are great pals and I posted about him last year when Haribo went missing in May. He was the one who checked out my garden looking for Haribo then wandering off which was in the direction of where we found him stuck in a shed a few days later. Hugo was out with us the same night we rescued him.

Hugo comes in my house and knows where the cat nip is kept. he calls on Haribo. Haribo goes into his house with him via the cat flap. They play this silly game of King of the Castle on a neighbours garden arch and they hang out together in Hugo's back garden and roll around in the dusty gravel in the car park to see which one can get the dirtiest.

Hugo's owner said it was a downside of moving because he loves Haribo too. Haribo hasn't noticed the sold sign yet and the new owner doesn't have a cat. Does anyone have any tips?

Oh no. Poor Hugo. Have you ever considered getting another cat yourself?

Mumdiva99 · 05/04/2021 07:38

Sorry I meant poor Haribo.

Get another cat

TroysMammy · 05/04/2021 09:03

There are other cats in the vicinity but Hugo and Haribo are exclusive Smile. He doesn't chase Hugo out from our garden like he does with the others. I don't think Haribo would want to share me with another cat but it's different to going to call on your friend. The person buying the house is a friend of the current owner and considering Hugo's owner has said he's never loved an animal more perhaps his friend may be persuaded to get a kitty.

Any chance you could adopt Hugo? Some cats are tied more to their territory than their humans.

Poor Haribo. That's really sad, but he'll adjust. Try not to get too worried about it, bless youFlowers

TroysMammy · 05/04/2021 11:21

Hugo was adopted by his owner because a neighbour's daughter was going into Uni halls and her parent, not a pleasant man, wouldn't have looked after Hugo. He's loved too much for that to happen.

Perhaps Hugo and Haribo can have a Facebook or Whatsapp account and see each other on there Grin

But I did find out yesterday that Haribo has learned from Hugo how to use a cat flap. I hope he hasn't learned from Hugo how to kill seagulls because one of those being dragged into the house via a cat flat is too much to think about.

Flipping auto correct, cat flap. I have put off having a cat flap because I thought Haribo was too dim to use one. Obviously not.

Oh no that's so sad. You have to tell them they can't move. Simple as that.
