Collar baldness

I’m starting to realise Ulysses has very sentisve skin, and gets bald patches very easily, especially round his collar. So I need to find a collar which is soft but also secure enough to hold his tracker and still quite release. Any ideas?

Neither of my cats have a collar

I don’t mind not having a collar or tracker, but this is DPs first cat and he’s too anxious to let him out without both

Collars can be dangerous for them (even quick release) so I'd rather not use them.

Does he wear the collar 24/7. We keep our cats in at night so I remove their collars in the evening then pop them back on again in the morning. Ours also have GPS trackers.

I almost lost one of mine to a quick release collar that didn't release.
None of them have collars now.
They are all chipped and come home.

My Sam had a bald patch around his neck from where he wore a collar before he was abandoned (bought a collar he was allergic to but didn’t microchip, nice previous owners) it took years for the fur to grow back, it didn’t bother him, and actually it meant the flea drops always hit skin! I only put a collar on my first ever cat, she came home with her leg through it so that was it with my cats and collars.

He’s a previous stray, and as I said my partner won’t be happy letting him out with no collar and tracker, and I don’t believe in indoor cats. There’s no soreness so maybe we’ll just have to live with the baldness under the collar if we can’t find a soft one

Oh and it will only be on when he’s out and about
