My cats missing 😢

Lotsachocolateplease · 20/03/2021 06:59

My lovely 4 year old hasn’t been seen since 6pm last night. He’s usually snuggled up on someone’s bed looking cute by about 8pm. I think he may be in a shed or garage. Going to make posters today. What should I put on the poster? Photo, tel no, what else?
Any hopeful stories of other cats going missing only to turn up the next day?

Yes in our former home we accidentally locked up the cat in outbuildings ... used to wonder where she had gone and then we'd go into the garage and lo and behold there she'd be.

The idea has probably occurred to you already but knock on a few local doors to see if anyone has seen him around?

I hope you're reunited soon Flowers

Check all your cupboards too. Good luck.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/03/2021 07:57

Put it on fb spotted page too. Keep calling him even if it feels futile.

Definitely knock on doors and ask the neighbours to check garages and sheds etc.
Are you on Nextdoor? Our local one generally gets a good response on missing cats.

I think I can hear him miaowing from my neighbours garage, I’ve text her but she’s a very late riser........ I want to go and knock but don’t want to wake her!!! It’s 10.10 for goodness sake! Keeping my fingers crossed, I’ll update.......

What a relief. I wonder if he’ll learn anything from this?.

Mia184 · 20/03/2021 12:36

I‘m glad that he is back!

TiddleTaddleTat · 20/03/2021 12:39

Our 5yo cat has done this a few times. He's always been back by lunchtime the next day ragged and a bit tired. Usually it happens when it's windy/stormy out so I can only presume he's sheltering somewhere. Fingers crossed yours comes home soon x

TiddleTaddleTat · 20/03/2021 12:40

Just seen he's back, great news OP

StripedLeopard · 20/03/2021 13:24

Brilliant news 😀

Mumdiva99 · 20/03/2021 13:27

Great news.

Fluffycloudland77 · 20/03/2021 13:28

At least yours miaowed, I trapped mine in our garage and he just went stealth 🤨. He wasn’t there long though I had that oh ffs he’s in the garage realisation.

Haribo fell through a shed roof and was trapped for a few days last year. Recently I briefly went into my shed, saw Haribo go into the house, set the shed alarm and locked the door. A passing neighbour stopped for a chat and the alarm went off. I quickly opened the door to stop the alarm and Haribo ran out petrified. He'd snuck in as I came out. Although he hadn't fallen through the roof I would have thought he would have learned his lesson - obviously not.
