Cat taps me all the time

Beloved 1 yr old cat gets lots of love and attention and (because lockdown) still has about 5 small meals a day.

She taps me whenever she sees me and will chase me up the stairs tapping my heels. What's she up to? She's got a full bowl of food, she's had a cuddle. What more does she want?!

(I don't mind. She loves me the most. I'm smug about that.)

I have a tapper. Tap tap tap, all day long. When I'm in the bathroom, kitchen, wherever, she demands I recognise her presence. I love her to pieces.

Mine is also a talker. Tap tap tap, amusing story, tap tap tap, asking where her treats are...

Cats are great! I am besotted.

Aww I’m jealous - mine are both quite aloof and only acknowledge my presence when they’re hungry!

Could she want a little game? Jackson Galaxy is always banging on about playing with them!

Cheddar is like this. She just adores attention and is the only cat I've ever met, who demands to be picked up and cuddled.

And she's definitely a talker. She has an opinion on everything!

I'd play with her for a bit too.
It's amazing what they'll run around a room to catch and fight. Even a rolled up ball of paper. They're nuts. All of em 😂

Mine asks for cuddles. She’ll stand on her back legs and put her front paws on my shoulder.

My male car taps me too for attention. One time I was sitting with my back to the dining table, he he'd jumped up abd was tapping my shoulder, I jumped out of my skin!

He also uses his paw to pull his, or my other cats food bowl if he fancies her food, or if she fancies his and he's trying to rescue it 😆

I’ve got a tapper. She didn’t tap from being a kitten but was maybe 6-7 before she learned. It makes me smile every time. She just wants a fuss and quite often her tail fluffs up like a brush when you do pet her. I’ve only ever seen that with frightened or angry cats but I believe it is seen in oriental type cats (she’s half Bengal).

My 19 year old did that too - she wanted attention ALL the time. It was so cute.

My little tapper likes to sneak up behind me and tap on my shoulder. Freaks me right out sometimes. He thinks it's hilarious. Also plucks gently at my sleeve if he wants a cuddle😍

My Siberian is a tapper and if she gets not attention she will then try and groom my fair for me.

My big ginger boy is a bastard for this.

I give him a nice fuss, go to walk away, and he swipes at my ankles. Not usually aggressively, just to tell me "Oi slave lady, did I say I was done with being fussed? Get back here". Cheeky little twat.

Taps are definitely their way of saying “You’re not finished yet! Keep fussing!”

Yep, I am tapped when it is cuddle time by his clock.

Could it be she wants to play? Our late dcat did this when under-stimulated. Perhaps have a wand within reach to distract her (but not straight after the tapping so it's an award, preferably before ha ha).

Mine doesn't tap, but will use his paws to grab your hand back if you take it away too soon after patting him.

During the week, I usually get up at 5am. I like or would like to sleep longer during the weekend; however, Micky repeatedly wakes me up because she wants her breakfast. When I do get up eventually and feed her, she comes after me when I go to get her food and always taps/swipes my ankles as if she wants me to hurry up. 😄

I've got a tapper, prodder and a grabber.

Mine taps, too. I've figured out that it means he wants to play with his mousie on a stick.
