OK, new cat arrived here last night.

She is just over 1, bought with an intent to breed but her owner is having health issues so we have her now. We don't intend to breed her.

We need to go to the petshop to get feliway, some de-flea stuff, some dreamies but she has eaten some of her food, wee'd in her litter tray (currently open but the cover is ready to go one in a while)

I need to sort out a visit to the vet for injections and to talk about spaying - should I wait for a few days before disturbing her more

And I also need to sort out insurance

She has taken position of the highest point - i may have to pop some lino up there to protect the wood

Photo tax....plenty more to follow once she calms down a bit

She is gorgeous!

nevertrustaherdofcows · 19/03/2021 17:37

She looks Burmese to me. Lovely girl

Roselilly36 · 19/03/2021 17:42

She is adorable OP, so jealous! I so miss my cat 😻

StripedLeopard · 19/03/2021 18:39

She is absolutely beautiful 🐾

KatyMac · 19/03/2021 21:07

@nevertrustaherdofcows are Burmese a different shape?

So far no allergy from DH or DD

Actually she is tiny, is she fully grown at 15 months?

Burmese are much closer to the less exaggerated "traditional" Siamese breed. I do think she looks pretty similar to the Burmese my DBro used to have.

Regarding size my rescues (ex-feral moggies) were 2 when they came home, but still grew once they were settled in e.g. can't fit in previous hiding places. And no they are NOT fat Grin, just longer and taller.

BigmouseLittlehouse · 20/03/2021 08:57

I have a Siamese and a Burmese. My Siamese is ‘old type’ and has a more rounded face. I’m not sure she does look like a Burmese - will try and post a pic of my Burmese ( he is much rounder)

KatyMac · 20/03/2021 09:08

She is certainly 'stockier' than my last boy, but she is barely adult (I think?) And a girl

Her eyes are blue/grey which I think is relevant for deciding breed?

I wonder if she is a crossbreed?

Should she still be on kitten food? What is the best dry food for her? She is having applaws tuna but the dry food she came with is running out

Just realised there are obviously lots of pics of Burmese online! Hopefully a pic attached which shows the ‘softer’ face of my Siamese.

But he’s much more solid than my meezer, also although although still silky he doesn’t feel like my Siamese to stroke.

Am sure your vet will help! She is very beautiful though - I’ve always wanted a lilac or blue Siamese ( have a chocolate point who had also been rehomed twice).

New arrival; so happy!
BigmouseLittlehouse · 20/03/2021 09:20

Sorry the Burmese is much more solid. And yes Burmese don’t have blue eyes. Sorry not good pic but here’s my blue Burmese.

New arrival; so happy!

How long is a cat on heat for - poor little thing is so stressed

Her blue eyes are so clear and when she mews it sounds like her saying "hello" poor DH was so shocked!!

@KatyMac they keep calling until they have a shag!
Our cat tends to do a week on and a week off. You do get a bit used to it but it is very loud especially if she is Siamese.

What did the vet say about having her spayed ?

KatyMac · 20/03/2021 14:44

They won't commit to anything until they have seen her - Thursday

We have this dry food can I give either to the baby or do I need to buy other dry food?

Do you know how old she is? They should have kitten food until they are 1 year old.

KatyMac · 20/03/2021 18:26

She is 15m

I am giving her Applaws tuna for wet but I've usually offered dry too (with previous cats)

Tesco order is coming on Monday

Arden grange do good dry food.

EachandEveryone · 20/03/2021 19:10

Its a good price on Amazon as well.

KatyMac · 20/03/2021 21:53

Should I feed her kitten food a bit longer?

I guess she will just have to have tuna until I can get something delivered

OP posts:
KatyMac · 20/03/2021 22:12

I can get some arden Grange from the pet shop tomorrow

I wonder if they don't click and collect

Congrats on your new fur baby. She's gorgeous ❤️

Wolfiefan · 20/03/2021 22:17

Lurking for more pics.
She does look quite Burmesey!
We were told kitten food until neutered. Or after a year (I think.)
Don’t give pet shop flea stuff tho.

KatyMac · 20/03/2021 22:23

As requested xx

She is very round in the face and stocky

New arrival; so happy!
