Assuming I'm not alone in this daft behaviour?

Weather where we are is (after some lovely sunny days) very windy, wet and stormy.

I have been up and down all night "showing" cats what the weather looks like - they sniff at air and run back in with an air of "why the hell did you open the door?"

This has being going on for hours and I just end up saying "I told you"

Gah! I love them but please...trust me on door opening :)

We can't have a cat flap for various reasons - so this is the bane of my life (small world problem I know!)

Leroy sat by the back door to go out. I got his jacket and my coat, clipped his lead on, opened the door and... he sat down. He made a weird huffy snort of utter disgust and hid behind the dining table.

He's done this 3 times today, and once at the front door.

He's not a happy cat 🙀

Mine have been in and out the damn cat flap all day in eternal search of the sunshine that was definitely there yesterday. Muddy feet all over my floor.

Mine has a cat flap, when the weather is bad she fetches me, wailing loudly, and takes me to the door where she sadly stares out the flap & back at me repeatedly, complaining. She vastly overestimates my power over the outside world.

Bless them ... according to them I can't anticipate the right flavour cat food on a daily basis but they think I have the power to change the weather?!!

I've slept on the sofa. I've been up during the night shouting her in but no sign 😢

I had a cat who would sit looking out of the back door, huff at me because it was obviously my fault the weather wasn't to his liking. He would then run through the house to the front door to see if it was any better there and would huff at me again.

We've only been up half an hour and we have been doing the duo door dance

Col went out long enough to toilet and had now come in after a spell sat in the doorway.

Dexter is in in now so he gets to play

OP do yours do the thing where if the weather is bad out the front door, they try the back in the hope the weather is different there?

@Allergictoironing - thankfully not but that's probably because it's harder to see out at the front!
