My cat just died

Some will know BastardCat, my massive ‘tooled up’ Panther. As per normal, he got up when MrCat got out of bed. As MrCat prepped his breakfast he did his usual purring whilst simultaneously weaving in and out of MrCat’s legs. He suddenly made a weird noise, MrCat turned around and BastardCat!was on his side, dead. It was that sudden. He’d just had his eight birthday.

We are devastated.

Hi OP, I"m so sorry. The same thing just happened to my 3 year old cat last week. She was right as rain one minute, then made a strange cry, fell on her side and had a v small seizure (5 seconds tops) and died within a few minutes. As you say it's devastating - we're heartbroken and so shocked at the suddenness of it. Hope you're ok.

Icequeen01 · 09/03/2021 21:33

OMG I cannot even begin to imagine how I would feel if that happened to one of my cats. I am so, so sorry. I can understand why you are so heartbroken x

Follow up.

We registered with local Cat Rehoming charity last week thinking it would be ages until assessed etc only to be asked to consider a couple of absolute beautiful cats early this week!

In the end, we sounded like arsehole timewasters because everything I said, MrCat deflected / contradicted our previously signed up to registration e.g happy to accept one cat, bonded pair or kitten/s. We registered thinking it would be ages before we would be considered and I think in retrospect, too early for MrCat. I would have taken on both!! One was a pure breed ‘not sure about underlying conditions’ and the other beautiful moggie’s back story was owners became unwell.

In the end, the cat charity decided we wouldn’t be suitable because we have some work planned - even though months in the future - but did help me feel like less of time wasting twat.

I’m stalking both cats now and they now have holds so hopefully, they will have best life.

It’ll only be 4 weeks next Tuesday since BastardCat died.
