I have an 11 year old cat who has always loved being outdoors. She has always lived in this house which backs onto waste land and this has always been her playground / hunting ground but planning was approved for a new build estate and the work started recently. She never really goes out the front as my neighbour leaves his dog in his front garden most of the day and it’s chased her a few times. She point blank will not leave the house now at all apart from going in the garden to the toilet and then straight back in (she refuses to use the litter tray) She also refuses to play with any toys, we’ve spent hundreds over the years on so many different toys but she just doesn’t entertain them. She’s now getting very bored and I’m really worried about her. I understand that she’s scared because the noise is driving me up the wall especially with WFH at the moment so I can’t imagine how scary is must be for her not to mention her seeing them destroy her playground. Any suggestions on how to keep her entertained or to try and persuade her to at least go out at night when it’s quiet. It’s awful seeing her so fed up and sad.
