Where has dcat put his collar?

A few weeks ago I got dcat a lovely new collar with a bow tie on it, because he's very sophisticated 😂. He hated it at first, but has grown to love it. He wears it constantly.
He had it on at breakfast this morning, I took the dog for a walk, came home, he was lounging on the bed like he owns the place- but he was completely naked. I was appalled.
I asked him where had your collar gone and he shrugged and wandered off.
I cannot find it anywhere, he is a house cat so it shouldn't be that hard to find.
The conclusion I have come to, is he took it off, grew thumbs, unlocked the door and put it I the outside bin (the bin men came while I was out) and now it's lost forever.
Here is a picture of the ass hat with his collar on.

When I was little, we used to have a gate with bars just about wide enough for a cat. The neighbour's cat used to wear flea collars. There was a cycle of 'put collar on cat', cat walks to gate and pops head through, withdrawing it carefully so as to remove the collar, goes about business, goes home, neighbours put a new collar on, we find the old collar, post via their letterbox, the cat comes over with new collar ...'

He is very handsome and debonaire, OP.

No help to you, but one of mine had a collar, then one day he appeared in the house without it. I told him off, he shrugged and went back out. Then came in a while later wearing it...

I thought I was seeing things, and it was a mystery for a while, until one of my neighbours said she'd found it and redressed him. He lost it again a while later but this time it stayed lost, so I gave up.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/02/2021 13:05

He's clearly telling you he hates it! That's why he's lost it. He does look good in it though.

Toddlerteaplease · 25/02/2021 13:06

My parents vat looses his frequently. But has he's well known, they get posted through the door!

CassandraCross · 25/02/2021 13:11

He does look very debonair and suave in that collar, however, that face is saying he is most definitely not impressed!

He's given it to the dog to bury/hide on his walk, or he has hidden it in the last place you will look, it will be impossible for you to retrieve it, they are cunning these cat overlords.

Mine both wear tick collars, with an address barrel on and an electronic tag for the cat flap. They have a break mechanism to prevent strangling but they are really expensive so I was hoping they wouldn’t learn to get them off wantonly.

One of them managed to get out of hers last summer; I duly thanked fate she hadn’t got strangled, and replaced the collar, barrel and tag at vast cost. Two weeks later whilst up a ladder clearing gutters I found the old collar, still done up, ON THE ROOF. The little swine had been sun bathing naked up there and forgotten to put it back on Shock

I love the gingham bow tie OP

purrswhileheeats · 25/02/2021 17:22

Maybe he secretly didn't like the colour? 🤔

I once put my old boy Rafa (Benitez) in a blue collar which I think he objected to - he went for a wander and came back an hour later sans collar, never to be seen again Shock

Nutrigrainygoodness · 25/02/2021 19:12

Thanks everyone 😁 the collar still hasn't been located. He is looking very suss.
I think I'm giving him a complex- I laugh at his nakedness every time he strolls by.

He hates having a camera pointed at him, he either scowls or closes his eyes so he's just black 🙄 in the photo i had just told him he couldn't keep the massive delivery box his food came in, and he was being ridiculous to even suggest it.

I think Harry was grateful when he had to stop wearing a collar (he had his jaw wired and I was worried it would get caught) - I'm not sure the purple velvet or red glitter collars I bought for him did a lot for his reputation!

Sunbathing naked 😂😂😂

OP, you have inspired me to get my feline overlord a bowtie collar.

TroysMammy · 25/02/2021 21:51

Could he have patted it under the fridge or settee?

Catwoman123 · 25/02/2021 21:54

He looks so handsome in it. I've given up with my boy, he manages to lose every single collar I put on him. Angry

Morechocmorechoc · 25/02/2021 21:56

I'd take the hint and no more collars. I'd hate to have something stuck around my neck I couldn't get off. Never got collars. Esp for outdoor cats, so dangerous.

He is cute though!!

Poor Harry. I don't see him as a blingy cat.
Toddlerteaplease · 25/02/2021 22:19

I want to but a bandana on Cheddar's collar.
