She went downhill very suddenly during the night after rallying on Sunday. I took her to the vets first thing this morning and he said it was time. She was 19 years old.
It was very very peaceful and I told her I loved her again, I knew she wanted to go. She didn't suffer at all. The vet let me stay with her for 10 minutes and she looked just like she was sleeping. I'll get her ashes and a paw print back on Saturday. My heart is broken and the house feels so empty now. But I know I did the right thing for her.

RIP Buns

How are you getting on? The first few months are awful. You still think “we need to go home the cats been on his own for ages” then you remember.

What a beautiful girl, I'm so sorry Sad x

I'm not as bad bad as I thought I would be fluffycloudland, yes the house is empty when I get home but after a couple of days I realised that she's been my companion for nearly two decades, I was so lucky to have her so long and she went with no suffering which really is all you can ask for.
I keep sniffing her fluffy bed because it still smells of her and I cannot bring myself to put any of her things away.
I'll think about it when I get her ashes back from the crematorium.
It's not over until I get her home again.

Everyone takes it differently, you have no control over how you grieve.

I’ve still got the litter tray out 15 months later.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Buns was my boy’s middle name! 😻 She was a beautiful girl.

I’m so very sorry for our loss. What a beauty she was. And what a fantastic long and happy life she had - lucky girl. A good peaceful end. She would thank you.
I know how you feel- we had our beloved dog pts exactly a month ago and it’s agony. He was 12 and it’s very very hard. We miss him so terribly. We are struggling.
Our oldie cat is 17 and vey doddery on his legs and I worry terribly, we would struggle with another loss.
Remember though every tear is love it’s all love ❤️
Such a terrible shame isn’t it that they have shorter lives than us, if only xx

Its awful Benji, sorry about your dog. All we can do is curl up in the foetal position and block out the world until the pain goes away.
