My beautiful tabby boy had to be pts last night, after his kidneys failed. He was 20 so I can't complain about him being too young, but I'm absolutely bereft. He should be on my lap, purring.

So very sorry for the loss of your lovely old boy, I bet you gave him the best life ever. You must have had so many wonderful times with him. Just the biggest ever hug to you from me, it’s devastating to lose your furry companion.

Oh Santa, only 8?? I'm so sorry, that's genuinely distressing. I'm comforted that we had so long with my lad, and know how lucky we were. Today's been the horrid task of "clearing things away" like his food bowls and bed. I will adopt again when I'm ready, but having it all visible was too hard so its boxed up in the garage. The house feels empty without him.

One of ours was killed by a dog 10 days ago, we are all still bereft and cry at least once or twice a day each.

He was so full of character and the house is so quiet and empty without him charging around and making his presence known and all his cuddles and demands for belly rubs.

Our surviving dcat became stressed (pulling fur out) and the yowling - dear me.
Gave in to dc's suggestions that a dkitten would help.
With great joy it did. Cuddling up within 2 weeks. Brought a tear to my eye..
Your dcat shaped hole will bring joy to a lonely dcat when you are ready op..

How sad. So sorry for the loss of your dear cat. I've said goodbye to two 20 year olds. It's a difficult time, but slowly you'll feel like you can cope better. They're an enormous part of our lives

I have a 16 year old cat, who has started to go downhill. I can’t bear to think about it. He has a huge personality and is an important member of the family. I am so sorry about your lovely tabby boy. I am not surprised you are bereft, even though 20 is a fine age.
