New kitten feeding help!

I am, hopefully, bringing a new kitten home today. He will be 11 weeks old.

I spoke to the current owner about feeding and he has said that the kitten is currently being fed twice a day on wet food and has dry available all day.

I don't want to adapt the routine too much if this is ok, but everything i have read suggests feeding kittens this age up to 5 times a day.

Does anyone have any advice?

thank you!

When my cats were teeny weeny, I fed them 4 times a day, little and often. I want another kitten now....

I’d feed on demand, they grow really fast and need a lot of calories.

Ours was on 400g a day wet at that age going to 450g a day as an adult. 500g if he told dh he needed a bedtime snack and conned him out of half a pouch.

Oh dear lord yes! The bowl empty miaow. We had a Bengal, it was deafening but I could get a tin of food open onto a plate in record time.

Beware of auto feeders should you decide to use one . Test them before relying on one. Dd's 2 dkittens opened it before her eyes and cleared the lot!!

My Pepper is 20 weeks now and still has 3-4 wet meals a deal plus biscuits down. She doesn't eat a huge amount in one go though, is the little and open type. The annoying thing is my 5 year old cat Leo now expects to be fed the same amount... he can sniff a pouch being opened from the down the street and demands he gets treated the same..!

Well, Oreo came home yesterday (obligatory photo attached). He definately seems to be a little and often cat as well. Yesterday he had two full pouches and i think today we will aim for the same with dry available.

We give him half a pack 4 times a day and he seems to graze at it taking several hours to eat it. We need to try and take him for his second vaccinations next week (if the vet is doing them) so we can see if he is putting on enough weight then)
