Cat is missing

Dcat has not bern seen since yesterday afternoon which has never happened before. He is 2 years old. Neutered. We usually keep him in at night and he is never usually out for a couple of hours. What should I do?

Keep calling him, knock the neighbours up asking if they can check their garages or sheds & put it on fb spotted.

Check your own garden too in case he’s in the bushes hiding.

Any sign of him?

Call the vets to see if they’ve had him brought in (a long shot - they would surely call if you’ve had him chipped, but just in case).

Agree with checking sheds and garages in case he’s got locked in. I don’t know whether he’s shy, but make sure to have a good look - ours ended up hiding in someone’s box room silently for hours as he was so out of sorts.

Local Facebook groups and WhatsApp groups can be good - post a picture and ask if anyone has seen him.

It’s so worrying when this happens - I hope you’re doing ok. We spent weeks patrolling, postering, calling his name before one of ours was found six weeks later! (Safe and sound)

Ask people to look under decking too, in case he’s got stuck or is hiding and scared. And in cavity walls.
