Bored cat

Hi all,

My mostly outdoor, active, exploring cat is bored stuck inside.
We moved on Friday.
She normally loves going out.

We are keeping her in while she gets used to the new house.
She was anxious the first day but she seems pretty back to normal.

We have moved twice with her but both previous times she was much younger and coped inside better. Once I let her out, both times, she disappeared for a couple of days. I would report her missing and she would turn up at the new house like nothing is different. So I know she can work out her way through new surroundings.

But she's older this time and we have lived in our old home for 4 years.

I have played with her lots but I can tell she wants out.

We have a garden but she will easily jump the fence.

Should I try supervise her in the garden for a while.

Running, jumping, hunting and digging are her favourite things and she's bored and disruptive inside.

Thanks

Unless you can contain her in area of the garden I’d keep her in for a while yet.

Will she wear a harness? I had one cat who would and one cat who viewed it as an invitation to show how Houdini-like he was! It's hard, a cat that likes to roam will always hate being kept in, you have my sympathies.

Go on zooplus and buy interactive toys she has to work to play with and puzzle feeders if she has dry treats etc to occupy her & plenty of cat tv on youtube.
