Help - cannot get cat sick stains out of green carpet

Has anyone got any handy tips about getting cat sick/poo stains out of carpet?

We have old cat who occasionally makes stains and I normally deal with it quite well with fairy liquid - in fact it’s been near perfect up to now. It is an older light green colour short pile carpet.

However in last few days there have been I think sick stains (from night time sick - I never saw the first one so am guessing as DH did it). I am concluding these are different from poo stains as fairy liquid has only superficially lifted the stain. It is a massive carpet and we simply can’t afford to replace it.

Does anyone water have some clever solution to getting these out – oh I really do hope so.

I should add the cat is fine, just greedy so will be putting less food overnight - he gets a big choice overnight as he is fussy and I don't want him to be hungry but last night he ate the lot!

Thank you.

Do you think the stomach acid has bleached the carpet?.

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 09/01/2021 11:21

I find that Vanish Carpet Mousse has almost magical properties for removing stains.

Definitely worth a try.

Fluffycloud77 no I don't think the stomach acid has bleached it as it has not gone lighter I just can't lift the stain

Grumpyoldpersonwith cats do you mean this? www.robertdyas.co.uk/vanish-power-foam-gold?source=aw&awc=1528_1610192179_f12c0e252dc18220f2355d82b2cd1d7b&src=AW&affiliate=624709&utm_source=AW&utm_medium=affiliate
I tried that already on the first stain - did not seem to do anything - maybe I did not leave it on or long enough I was frightened it might bleach an entire patch if it was too strong etc

This stuff - it gets EVERYTHING out of carpets and upholstery, cat sick, wee, diarrhoea, red wine - it’s brilliant.

@2020again
Yes it's that one - always works for us, you need to really work it into the carpet after spraying on.

Test on an inconspicuous area first.

I second the Dr Beckmann cleaner it's brilliant.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/01/2021 14:34

Theres an argument for all cat owners buying a carpet cleaner for times like this isn’t there?.

AnnaMagnani · 09/01/2021 14:36

Professional carpet cleaner. They work miracles and still allowed in lockdown.
