Which cat bed?

So Dad has asked me to buy him a bed for his cat. I've had a look on ebay and have seen those fluffy 'donuts' or the normal square padded dog/cat beds - any idea what I should buy?! I like the look of the donuts but want something the cat will go in in the summer as well and not be too hot.

Cardboard box has always been favoured by my cats

I was just going to say we have a doughnut bed but he seems to prefer the smallest box possible 😂

Ours had a dog bed. Numerous YouTube videos showed cats like dog beds.

Mine has a lovely untouched donut bed.

He sleeps at the bottom of my bed, on the landing and in a chair in the living-room but never, ever the donut bed.

Are you sure your Dad's cat needs a bed?

Mine likes the office chair, the join between the cushions on the sofa, or the kids unmade beds. Catbeds are studiously ignored.

One of my kitten loves cat beds....she has happily curled up in all I bought. Until her bossier sister takes over or pushes her out or sleeps on top of it and squashes it flat.

A hooded cat bed is the current favourite. She also has an igloo she quite likes. The doughnut/bean bag one is the least favourite but I am keeping it in case they like it in the summer.

Mine have a teepee that is used all the time. A wicker igloo and a donut. I get mine from
Lazy days pet beds. The covers are washable. And very competitively priced.

My kitten loves her fluffy donut bed. My older cat never goes near a cat bed and prefers the sofa or a upstairs bed..

Mine loves her donut bed and the one at the top of her cat tree. Or under the covers with us at 5am.

Mine like a superking “human” bed with clean, ironed, 100% Egyptian cotton high thread count white sheets (they’re black and shedding), a decent duvet and a selection of feather and synthetic pillows. Ideally a soft blanket. Inferior so called ‘cat’ beds immediately rejected. Downstairs a Parker knoll original chair might do (no inferior modern rubbish furniture) or an Ercol dining chair if the humans are sat eating. We were dumped in a plastic bag as kittens but we have Standards.

There’s nothing like high thread count cotton to dry paws on. Nothing.

We just brought a pet bed from primary that I doubted would be used. It was a Disney character that both DD and I love.
The cat actually loves it. We have binned 4 others that have never been used though!

We have a fluffy white donut bed, and a fluffy white cat. Every single night, she sleeps in her bed. In the day she sleeps wherever she wants, but often chooses to go in her bed, particularly if I am working at the kitchen table - I sit the bed up on the table beside my laptop.

She came with her bed from the family we adopted her directly from - that was four years ago. On the very first night she sat on my lap, then wandered off to her bed. I was astonished!

(I just spotted how FILTHY her feet are in that photo. The bed gets washed regularly!)

The only one that gets used here is a scratching barrel with a bed at the top (The Penthouse). I find cats love to sleep high.
