Hi so I have recently started using this. Green bag first then red. But I find the smell overwhelming (clean litter). Has anyone used anything that works just as well but has no smell?

Intersand is the best clumping litter I've found. No smell at all.

@Yarnivore thanks I’ll try that. Reviews looks good

@Yarnivore do you buy odourlock unscented or the other scented bags?

We use Cat's Best - it smells of very little other than a faint woodiness

+1 for cats best. It’s eco friendly too.

Thank you! I’ll try both

Unscented.

Cat’s Best - definitely! It can seem more pricey, but as long as it’s deep enough then it reduces need for full tray changes. It clumps really well.

The dry/clean pellets will stick to their paws and track. I have a ridged litter tray mat outside the flap to the tray and this helps, but still use the handheld hoover for 30 seconds a couple of times a day. To me, it’s worth it, been using it over 10 years now and don’t think I could be persuaded to switch.

Thanks @Furries I’ve now ordered both as suggested above and fingers crossed it works for me

@Missc2001 - good luck, hope one of them work out for you.

I should have added, Bit late now but will say for future reference. If you do settle on Cats Best - I wouldn’t bother upgrading to their “Gold” version. It’s marketed for larger/long haired cats as the pellets are bigger and less likely to track as much. I used it for a while as my boys were big and floofy. It was ok for a bit, but after a while I was finding that what I poured out the bags was much nearer the usual stuff, so I decided to save my money and put up with a bit more use of the handheld hoover (which really is no bother).

Another vote for Cat's Best. A huge sack lasts at least 4 months here as I only have to change the litter every few weeks. It clumps really well and is easy to clean, and contains the smells really well too. The only downside is that the cat kicks it everywhere when getting out of the litter tray, but I guess he could do that with any litter.
